DRAFT. This document has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is awaiting the founder's approval. It is written to describe what Dukaaan actually does today, but it is not final, and its wording may change before it is.

How refunds work, written now rather than when you need one. Subscription billing is not switched on yet, so nothing has been charged to anyone — this policy governs from the day it is.

Try before you pay

Every account starts with a free trial that needs no card. Nothing is charged when it ends, and no subscription starts automatically. The trial exists so that a refund is rarely the conversation.

Free and discounted periods

An offer may give an account a free or discounted period. That period ends on the date you are shown when you take the offer up. It is never extended silently, and it never turns into a charge you did not set up yourself: before it ends we will tell you what continuing will cost, and from when. Nothing was paid for the free part, so there is nothing in it to refund.

Monthly subscriptions

If you are unhappy in the first seven days of a monthly charge, write to us and we will refund it in full. After that, cancel any time and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for; we do not refund part-months.

Yearly subscriptions

If you are unhappy in the first thirty days of a yearly charge, write to us and we will refund it in full. After thirty days we refund the unused whole months, less any month already used, at our discretion where the reason is something we got wrong.

Charged twice, or charged in error

If you are charged twice for the same period, charged after you cancelled, or charged an amount different from the one you agreed to, we refund the difference in full, whenever you tell us. That is our mistake to put right, not a goodwill refund, and it needs no reason from you.

Cancelling

Cancel at any time, from your account's billing settings or by writing to us. Cancelling stops the next renewal and nothing else: you keep access until the end of the period you paid for, nothing in your books is deleted, and you can export everything before or after.

If we broke something

If Dukaaan was unusable for a meaningful stretch, or a defect of ours cost you the use of what you paid for, say so. We would rather refund a period than argue about it.

How to ask

Email us from the address on your account and say what happened, or use the help button on any page. The person who reads it is the person who builds the product.

How refunds are paid

Back to the original payment method, through Razorpay, the payment provider subscription billing will run on. Banks typically take five to ten working days to show it. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay's own pages; we never see or hold them.

What is not refundable

Time on a free trial or the free part of an offer, since nothing was paid, and periods you used in full and are simply choosing not to renew.

What this policy cannot take away

Nothing here removes a right you have under Indian consumer law. If you think a refund has been handled wrongly, write to the address at the foot of this page before anything else — it reaches the person who decided it, and that is usually the shortest way to a different answer.

Did this answer it?

If it did not, write to the person who built Dukaaan. You get a reply from someone who can change the product.
